Event professionals are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking a hotel in Central London. From unique boutiques to well-known five star brands, the options are limitless!
So which London hotels do BI WORLDWIDE recommend? Unfortunately this isn’t an easy question to answer as there are too many to name! Even though we have a list of preferred suppliers, our Events Design team are always researching and communicating with new and existing hotels that ultimately result to suiting a client’s event brief. This often involves checking out new hotels and gaining inside knowledge for when an event brief comes through the doors. One in particular hotel which caught our Events Design Manager Lesley-Anne Brandon’s (LA) attention is the Conrad London St. James.
Offering understated luxury, and sophistication, LA recently stayed at the five-star hotel for two nights, and was particularly impressed with the top level of customer service and beautiful interior design the Conrad had to offer. We asked LA to share her experience of the Conrad London St. James and how this could be an ideal venue for a client event.
What makes the Conrad so appealing to delegates?
The Conrad is in a perfect central location for those who want to go and explore London. It is positioned in the heart of London and is only a doorstep away from well-known attractions such as Westminster, St. James Park and Buckingham Palace. As we made our way to the hotel, we drove down ‘The Mall’ which gave us the perfect ‘Sense of Arrival’ as it would for many guests coming to the heart of London.
One of the things I noticed about the Conrad is there are different ‘zones’ around the hotel which makes it an interesting place to explore. With a traditional London style pub, fine dining restaurant, chill out lounge, and various bar areas, there are lots of different options for guests to go and relax or enjoy hearty food. Amongst fascinating art sculptures carefully positioned around the hotel, each public area has its own character and the use of natural and earthy décor compliments each other very well. The Conrad has got style but also has substance, giving the right blend and balance that many hotels are unable to achieve.
What did you like most about the Conrad London St. James?
It really was an extremely enjoyable weekend. The three key points that stood out to me were the service, quality of food, and not forgetting the most comfy bed I’ve ever slept in!
The hotel is inviting and so are the employees who work there. They deliver what they say they will deliver. The customer service was spot on and I could not fault it one bit. The Conrad employees were very friendly and efficient; they appeared motivated and proud of their role within the company, ultimately creating a memorable experience for each guest.
Being a five star hotel, the food is incredible! Depending where you choose to eat, dining at the Conrad can be as formal or informal as you wish.
I particularly like how the Conrad feels intimate with contrasts of being a branded hotel with a boutique influences.
Is it a perfect hotel to accommodate delegates for an event?
The best part about the Conrad is that it can be used for business, pleasure or a mix of both. It is an ideal venue for small business meetings or lunches for 100 delegates max.
The rooms are superb. Each room has a complimentary range of good quality toiletries that are tailored to each guest. For example, if a gentleman was staying during a business trip, masculine toiletries would be placed in the room. It’s these little nice touches that make it a memorable place to stay for delegates.
