Event professionals are always on high alert, especially when it comes to the safety and wellbeing of a client.
Safety first is safety always and BI WORLDWIDE certainly knows the required level of care when it comes to running an event.
Recently, Associates from BI WORLDWIDE’s Events team partnered up with the British Red Cross, completing an emergency at work First Aid training course as part of its professional development programme.
The day involved the Events team learning life-saving skills, preparing them for any real life first aid situation that could take place on an event.
When it comes to health and safety during an event, BI WORLDWIDE ensures the Events team are equipped with the appropriate knowledge and qualifications.
Events Operations Director Rachel Belliere-Wilson said: “Prevention of an incident is our primary focus. That’s why we invest heavily in modular training across all aspects of event management, such as site inspecting, risk assessing, food and beverage management (including special diets and allergies) etc.
“After prevention, we focus on our ability to intervene in an emergency or crisis situation. That’s where our ongoing training in emergency procedures and crisis management comes into play. We live in an increasingly unpredictable world and there’s much that is outside of our control, so it’s no good just crossing your fingers and hoping it doesn’t happen to you. Will you be ready and able to cope if it does? Our team will”.
Operations Director Shaun Casey commented on the training day: “A huge thank you goes to the British Red Cross and Wendy Ryan who really put us through our paces! At BI WORLDWIDE we strongly believe in ensuring our staff feel confident in dealing with the unexpected and we see first aid training as being fundamentally essential for anyone working in event management at our company.”
As part of the professional development programme, the team have also taken part in flight training with Virgin Atlantic and a food and beverage workshop with Belmond Le Manoir.
