BI WORLDWIDE held its second annual EMEA conference in Milton Keynes.
Over 200 Associates heard updates from Managing Director Mike Davies and insights into high performing teams from special guest, Sir Clive Woodward. It was a fabulous morning and the appearance of Sir Clive was a huge surprise to everyone attending.
Just as everyone thought it couldn’t get any better the audience were invited to take part in three business sessions:
1. The Participant Passport
Associates got the chance to learn about the huge range of experiences participants and delegates go through.
2. “If you could change one thing…”
Associates were put into small teams and were asked to produce a short Dragon’s Den style video capturing what they would do if they were the boss for a day.
3. Tech Lab
Associates got to experience a whole range of latest technologies available at BI WORLDWIDE to enhance events and drive delegate engagement. This last session really got everyone buzzing as they explored virtual reality, NFC technology, dynamic imagery, holograms and responsive design as part of audience engagement, not only during events, but as part of the overall communications campaign to support channel optimisation and employee engagement.
The future of technology for events and engagement programmes
An event app was well utilised during the day by all Associates. The customised app provided, amongst many other things, the full itinerary, timely notifications, social sharing timeline and even an interactive QR competition.
One of our Associates commented: “The app was really useful and I enjoyed receiving notifications to remind me of where I needed to be at a particular time. The social media section was a great way to keep people engaged throughout the day too.”
Front End Developer Tim Gomm demonstrated how NFC can be used to enhance audience engagement in knowledge acquisition on site ranging from interactive treasure hunts as part of incentive trips through to product knowledge at training events.
Experimenting with holograms also drew a lot of interest from BI WORLDWIDE Associates from a production perspective.
Ian Newman, who headed up the Tech Lab initiative demonstrated how Etouches ROI tool worked: "The tool which is currently being beta tested with BI WORLDWIDE will allow considerable insight into the value of events going forward. We have already trialled Etouches Tap Crowd mobile app for our Associate conference and have been highly impressed!"
"We're extremely happy with the positive feedback we have received from our associates on the Tech Lab initiative. BI WORLDWIDE can harness the expertise of our Technology Solutions Group and the newly created Production Services to deliver an integrated solution for conference content and audience engagement. We hope to take our Tech Lab solution to our customers soon" stated Shaun Casey, Head of Events at BI WORLDWIDE.
