A Different School of Thought

From the historical spires of Oxford to the ancient heritage of St Andrews, universities cover the length and breadth of the UK offering conference and events organisers something different. Excellent facilities are provided at affordable prices and with over 100 universities around the country, there’s bound to be one not too far from you.

•    Great value – often more affordable than many hotels and conference centres
•    Versatile and flexible
•    Simulating environment relevant to learning, information sharing and idea generation
•    Hire options in term time for non-residential events, and residential options for those out of semester.
•    Excellent facilities for a range of group sizes and meeting contexts

Here’s a selection of some of the best to whet your appetite:

The University and Colleges of Oxford provide outstanding facilities and great value for meetings, conferences and celebratory dinners.  Imposing stone-coloured facades and stunning modern architecture give a sense of purpose, whilst hidden quadrangles and lovingly tended gardens encourage creativity and individual thinking.
Delegates and guests never fail to be inspired. The experience can continue in the ancient college dining hall, a concert in the distinctive seventeenth-century Sheldonian Theatre, or a theatrical performance on a summer's evening in a college garden - the opportunities are endless.

Cambridge University and the Cambridge Colleges offer an extensive portfolio of academic venues which can be hired for all types of event.  Famous people from all walks of life have studied and researched at Cambridge: William Wordsworth, John Milton and Charles Darwin to name but a few.  With a long history of illustrious names and surroundings of such stunning beauty, it is hardly surprising that Cambridge makes a deep impression on all who come to this ancient centre of learning.

It offers flexible conference and exhibition facilities with over 300 bedrooms on campus within immaculately landscaped grounds. The Great Hall, the largest auditorium, is a unique and impressive conference venue. The acoustics in the Hall are excellent, making it a popular venue for plenary meetings, concerts and banquets.

The University of Durham can host a full range of events, from meetings for 10 to residential conferences for several hundred delegates. Venues range from the historic University College in Durham Castle, to the modern Van Mildert College in a beautifully landscaped, lakeside setting. Accommodation is generally available during the summer with 600 en-suite single rooms and 100 en-suite twins. 60 beds are available all year.
