40 BI WORLDWIDE Event Management Associates took the time out of their busy schedules to attend a full day training course, organised by Ithaka Leadership Development Ltd to analyse different communication styles based on Insights Colour Discovery methodology.
An integral part of the continuous professional development of the team, Associates were given the opportunity to explore and appreciate different communication styles to enhance teamwork and focus on customer service excellence.
Shaun Casey, Head of Events, stated that the impetus for taking the whole department out for a day to spend time on understanding different communication styles was centered on BI WORLDWIDE’s multi-stakeholder approach to client management. “A Procurement Officer will have a very different communication style compared with a Marketing Director and we need to be using an appropriate style to engage and communicate with each of these stakeholders.”
Brook Jones, Project Executive commented: “It is amazing that a large agency such as BI WORLDWIDE is so focused on its employees on a minute scale, and how our personalities affect the way we work.”
Helen Parker, Events Administration Manager commented: “The training was very thought provoking and has provided me with the tools to communicate and work more effectively and efficiently with my colleagues.”
The team put their learning of effective communications into action immediately with an exercise in evaluating how we improve our approach to customer service excellence through better internal communications.
