BI WORLDWIDE's event professionals have travelled to South Korea this week to explore the latest developments in this extraordinary destination, now Asia's third largest economy.
As part of BI WORLDWIDE’s in:sight project, Design Manager Heidi Williams and Project Executive Michael Pollard are spending five days in South Korea, discovering what the destination has to offer, and its future plans and investment for the MICE industry. The trip involves staying in the capital city Seoul, GyeongJu city and Jeju Province, visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace, Korean Folk Village and DMZ. This will allow the team to gain a better understanding of South Korea’s history, culture, hospitality and future vision.
BI WORLDWIDE’s Operations Director Rachel Belliere-Wilson comments: “We created ‘in:sight’ as a platform for us to explore, investigate and probe a destination in far more depth than we often have the ability to do on an educational programme or site inspection.
“From a pure travel perspective, there’s not a lot of the world left to ‘discover’, but every destination is layered with history and in recent times many have had such seismic change, it’s essential for us to keep discovering, reviewing and, where necessary, helping to change perceptions.
“By taking a deep dive into a specific area, we’re able to surface with a greater level of knowledge and understanding, enabling us to develop fresh new experiential ideas which can work in harmony with the destination.”
