BI WORLDWIDE's Design Manager, Michelle Clarke, attended the Leading Hotels of the World London Summer Weekend 2015.

What could be more enjoyable than two nights at The Ritz London, dinner at The Langham, lunch at Brown’s Hotel and a Gala Dinner at Banqueting House? Equally, and not so obviously, you could ask what could be more informative. For every fun moment, there was a moment of insight. For every moment of luxury, there was a moment of inspiration.

The weekend provided an opportunity to not only enrich my own experiences but to enrich our extensive database with vital and - often potentially differentiating - details on a fun and interactive element of the Nation’s Capital that could prove priceless for clients seeking the most ‘on-brand’ solution.

Incorporating a treasure hunt-style activity by Wildgoose, full of crazy and competitive challenges that push you to the edge of creativity, fantastic food and drink, amazing afternoon teas, entertainment in the evenings and a wonderful group of hotel representatives, this was the best interactive educational trip I’ve ever attended.

From the moment I starting working in the events industry I always wanted to experience The Ritz London. With its impeccable service levels, incredible private dining rooms, famous afternoon teas and possibly the most comfortable beds, it didn’t disappoint.

After a very sophisticated breakfast at The Ritz, team ‘Ritz Chickz’ set off for a day of challenges. I amazed myself at sticking my hand up to perform the most ridiculous tasks that converted into points. From acting out a scene from a TV soap to answering general knowledge questions, from putting on trousers with no hands to taking a photo driving a taxi, all the challenges made us laugh whilst providing an interactive way to learn about the Leading Hotels of the World London collection.

I particularly enjoyed: sampling the very creative Charlie and Chocolate Factory Afternoon Tea at One Aldwych, cocktail making at The Langham, Yoga at Hotel Café Royal, transferring to our dinner venues in The Ritz Rolls Royce and the ‘wow’ feeling I got when I walking into The Main Hall at Banqueting House. I was especially impressed with the innovative GPS treasure hunt from Wildgoose and will certainly be recommending it for groups.

Overall it was a fantastic weekend that showcased a wide spectrum of luxury hotels in the city, giving us, as event organisers, a memorable way to experience their product. Each hotel offers something different for our clients and I very much look forward to proposing them in the future.

This will be something that will remain in my memory - and our database - for a very long time – Leading Hotels of the World, I thank you!
