Meet the Reindeers in Lapland

Day 4: Meet the Reindeers in Lapland

Lapland! A place of magic and wonder, guaranteed to excite and delight! Our Design Manager Leslie-Anne Brandon, has been in the events industry for almost two decades, with a bucket-load of experience of the world’s most stunning places, the most incredible hotels and the largest, swishest venues, we asked LA about her favourite winter destination. Lapland.

On arrival, change into your snowsuit, put on your winter protection and prepare for a weekend of thrills, spills and unique opportunities.

Your sled awaits, complete with a team of huskies, who will navigate through the forest fells and over the glistening snow scape to your home for the night, a cosy log cabin located in the middle of the Lappish wilderness.  The joy of journeying by husky is that you really get the chance to immerse yourself in the winter scenery and enjoy the serene isolation of this untouched terrain.

A quick stop to unpack and refresh, then it is time to hop aboard a snow mobile for an exhilarating safari over the snow-laden landscape.  As your journey draws to a close, you will be invited to enjoy a delicious, rustic, home cooked dinner in a Lappish House.

Back at your log cabin, soak in the hot tub, rejuvenate in the sauna or simply relax in front of the roaring log fire. Retire at your leisure to rest in preparation for tomorrow.

After a hearty breakfast, take the opportunity to traverse the Arctic landscape using the age old method of snow shoes. A perfect way to get up close and personal with nature.

Whilst you are exploring your surroundings your luggage will be transferred to where you will lay your head for the evening.

A simple, traditional lunch will be served alfresco around a blazing fire.

The opportunity to regale your experiences with your friends and colleagues whilst refuelling for this afternoon’s adrenalin fuelled adventure.

Hone your driving skills under the supervision of a skilled instructor then head out onto a specially designed track and test the car and your abilities at up to 100km/hour.

Shrilled, chilled and thrilled, your next stop will be the inspiring and totally 'cool' Ice Hotel where you will have the opportunity to sleep on ice under the warmth of a layer of reindeer skins and a thickly-padded polar sleeping bag!

Sample a vodka luge in the ice bar, partake in a spot of dinner and prepare yourself for yet another wondrous experience.

Imagine having the opportunity to ride in a sleigh pulled by one of Rudolph’s friends, kept toasty by layers of blankets and a warming tipple. As your sleigh glides over the powdery soft snow admire nature’s most spectacular light show, the Aurora Borealis.  Watch in wonder as the night sky becomes a symphony of colour, with hues of pale green and pink mixed with shades of red, yellow, blue and violet. It is a living kaleidoscope; shooting rays, streams of light, arches and rippling curtains of colour combine to illuminate the winter sky – a sight never to be forgotten.

No trip to this winter wonderland would be complete without a visit to the ‘Big Man’ himself.  After a restful night and warming breakfast in the spectacular Ice Hotel, we go in search of Santa.  He makes the effort to visit us every year, so it is only polite to pop in and share a hot chocolate with him when whilst we are here.

This memorable encounter over, we will head back to the airport, leaving behind us this enchanting land, but taking with us memories etched on our minds for a lifetime!

Ice hotels, al fresco dinning snow walking, reindeer sledding, the Northern Lights, and Santa himself!  So many incredible things to do as a group during the festive season – the food is authentic and humble, the atmosphere is as Christmasssy as you can get and the weather? Well that’s just perfect for the season.

We have taken many groups for team building events, conferences and reward trips, and we simply can’t get enough of this destination.

If Lapland sounds like a perfect incentive for your group, whatever the season, give us a call +44 (0) 1908 214717 or get in touch today and see how we can help you create that unforgettable trip for your colleagues.
